3F So Say Wee (31)

This picture is taken during the Service Learning Project that our class, 3F, did. What we all had to do was to bake about 450 cupcakes and have them packed nicely for the teachers and students in school. It was a very tedious process altogether because of the huge amount of cupcakes we had to prepare. Moreover, some of our classmates could not make it for the project, thus the workload had to be spreaded among fewer people in class. My job was the packaging of the cupcakes. I had to tie silver and purple ribbons on the plastic containers as well as to stick "Happy Teachers' Day" stickers on each one of them. We started at approximately 2pm and ended at 8.30pm! Wow, it sure was a very exhausting and stressful time. Everyone wanted to go home very badly, but nobody had a choice but to complete the task. During this Service learning project, I learnt how to cooperate with my classmates and to work together. This has also taught me to persevere no matter how bad the circumstances may seem. Ultimately, when we finished the project, I felt a great sense of achievement.

As part of our class service learning project, we made cupcakes for sale during teachers' day for students to buy our cupcakes as presents for their teacher. Each cupcakes cost $3 and 2 cupcakes cost $5.

At first, the baking of cupcake for service learning seemed like an easy task and at the same time, we would be able to finally get a service learning project. However, things are not always as easy as it seems, in fact, the preparations for the cupcakes, including the baking and the packaging, was quite troublesome and tiring. A few of us ended up working from around 2pm all the way till 8.30pm. Through this working process, I manage to bond with some of my classmates and i also learned that as long as we work hard, even the impossible would become possible.

Yes I would still continue doing such community services as I realize that after you have put in hard work in something you do, things tends to seem much nicer around you and it never fails to put a smile on your face when you have contributed to the community.
